    1) Are iBooks compatible with Dell Axim handhelds?

    2) What would I need to purchase for my iBook in order to record external sound, preferably without a mic? I'm a student at University of Chicago, I want to use it to record my Econ lectures. Thanks in advance

You could purchase a usb flash player that has a voice record function. Mine is very tiny and hangs around my neck. The cool extras is that it can play mp3's on your walk to class and it can hold some of your computer files too. I bought the Sonic Impact 256MB from Target.com but you might find a less expensive model if you look around.
    :)

You can, but it requires special software (I think it's around 30-40 $)

I believe that the iBook has a built in mic, correct me if I am wrong on that though. Also, you would need to get MarkSpace's MissingSync to sync your Axim with the iBook. A new version is coming out by the end of the month that is far and away better than ActiveSync on the PC. You will love it. It will also allow bluetooth and WiFi syncing as well as documents, etc.

Oh and MissingSync will allow you to update the x50v to Windows Mobile 5 this fall as it is compatible. You will most likely need to install it from a PC but then WM 5 can sync with the new MissingSync.
