    Hi,

I keep my MBP in my bedroom and put it to sleep overnight. The light on the front flashing is really annoying so I put a bit of black insulation tape over it.

Is there a more digital way of doing this?

    Thanks,

    Matt. Ireland

Yea I end up putting my cellphone or something infront to block the light. Might be the easiest thing to do.

No, he's talking about the Sleep light on the Macs, on the MacBook its on the right side of the front of the MacBook. Don't know where it is on the MBP.

It's on the button on the macbook pro.

I'll see if I can find something for it, there's gotta be a line of code that can be replaced or something.

Yep. It glows and fades, like the machine in breathing. Really doesn't matter which way it's facing, the light is very bright in a dark room. It would be handy to turn it off (or lower it) when the book is asleep.

I can navigate in otherwise complete darkness with that thing pulsing....
Really cool, but would be nice if it was easily switchable off.
As for someones suggestion of turning it off, I assume you mean the computer, which would defy the whe whole point of having a Mac which wakes from sleep in seconds...

if I forget and it bothers me when I am in a zombie state, then I cover it with a smelly sock!

I normally shut it down at night...

I don't shut my MacBook down because I can't wait 30 seconds in the morning for it to boot completely. Yes, I know I'm impatient :p.

After a fair amount of research I've found nothing that shows how to turn it off. The only instances I've heard of the sleep light not coming on is when somebody has dropped their notebook.

This may be an issue to actually contact Apple about.
