Seems to be a common error. It goes to like 99% and then says:
"Could not restore, Invalid argument"
This seems to be a common problem and I am having this issue on the the 3 usb drives I tried. I did notice when I put the USB drive in the computer and looked at the files, everything seems to be there. I want to do a fresh install of the OS, but I am not sure if it worked. Is there a way to test everything?
I have heard that people who are having the problem are also using carbon copy to get it to transfer to the USB drive, but I don't own the program and don't want to shell out $40 for a program that I don't need.
Advice?
Thanks

whats the size of the usb drives? I have found that when you partition a HDD to make space for lion, it gives the same error, its better to stick with thumb drives of 8gb

I tried 8gb and thought that I may have needed bigger... I ordered a 16gb and it still had an error...

have you tried this:
Serial Serveur » Lion DiskMaker (US) -
Downloading and going to try it now. Thanks for the link!

Worked like a charm! Thank you so much!

FYI, I had this error as well. Turns out the fix is to mount the IMG on your desktop first, and then drag the mounted image to restore. That fixes the error.

I actually tried that too... I read that from a different forum and tried it. That method was also listed in my walkthrough of how to do it. That free app that makes the boot usb is really straightforward and for the novice crowd. I felt like a total noob using it, but hell, it worked...

This error doesn't affect the image at all. You will still be able to restore from you flash drive successfully.
