stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
i had that same thing happen to me and i never got it figured out. i just waited until i got my new HD and used BC. if you have a backup i would suggest doing what it says. reformat and reisntall.

You have to defrag. Bootcamp needs whatever amount you chose as a partition of continious free space.
Edit:
If you have filled your hdd, or used up some space and then deleted files, etc, you will have free space scattered all over the hard drive, instead of one continious section. so yeah. defrag. you can use idefrag, coriolis cd maker comes with a boot cd thinger which you can use to defrag when you restart. pretty nifty, plus its free.
you owe me a beer. k thx bai -
00fez, unless he was moving HUGE files then he shouldn't have to defrag. OS X has an auto defrag feature, so defragging with third party software isn't really recommended.
OP:
Make sure you have enough space on your hard drive. You should allow for a couple gigs over what you are trying to partition. If you've got huge files then you may want to move them to an external as they're harder for OS X to move around on its own. -
SHould I defrag or reformat?
-
I did at one point today have 70 GB of music files, until I deleted half of them. I have 60 GB free on the HD, and allotted 25 gb for the windows partition, which should cover it. Weird stuff.

System, I'm just saying cause it happened to me before, I nearly filled my stock 80gig hd on my old macbook, and deleted some files, and boot camp didnt let me partition. I dug around and found that solution, after I defragged setup was a breeze!
OP: Flip a coin? -
Reformat it is, ill let you know how it goes. This is the 4th time I've reformatted with Leopard in 6 days lol.

So, Im in the middle of a problem here. I have created the partition for XP, and am in the process of installing windows, but the problem is the cd key is written on the cd, which is currently in the drive, and I cant continue the installation without entering it.
How can I enter OSX and eject the cd? I tried a cold reboot, but it just leads straight into the XP setup.
This is bad, very bad. -
push "option" while in booting just after the gray screen apears and there you have to select 'Macintosh HD' and there you are
-
Ok, so I finally got it running and it seems fairly good. The only bad thing is that the computer definitely heats up quite a bit more than usual when using XP.
-
That's cause the boot camp drivers don't support fan control yet. They'll ramp up when it gets really really hot, but not until then.
Get smcFanControl and set the fan speed to around 3500 before rebooting into Windows, see if that helps.
Tried the Bootcamp assistant, but got this...
