    Hey all

My new MBP should be arriving today. I was wondering how I can transfer data from an ASUS laptop to a MBP.

I plan to use a LAN cable and do direct transferring.

How to you set up the DNS and IP stuff? Not too good at this.

    Thanks.

OSX <-> XP networking is pretty simple...

OSX <-> Vista is a little more complicated...

    hey guys

Can anyone explain to me in details how to transfer files from XP--> OSX

I tried to use an ethernet cable after reading the guides but for some reason my mac couldn't connect to my PC

I tried the smb://ipaddress/ thing but probably I'm missing some thing

    Any help would be appreciated!
