So i currently have a i7 hex core cpu, gtx 680, 64gb of ram and 2 256 sad in raid 0 desktop, and I'm thinking about selling it and putting a bit more money to get a macbook rMBP maxed out around $3k... I mostly play LoL and WoW, and I'm looking forward to playing everquest next when it comes out...
How good is that GT 750 for games? and will i have any problems with future games??

Look at the benchmarks for the GT 750m.
You shouldn't give up such a powerful desktop... -
ya but im not playing powerful games, im also thinking about getting a xbox/ps4 not sure.

well right now i have one of those sony z, and because of school i have to run linux, and well im tired of running linux and dont want to use windows, so now that im about to graduate i want to get a mac.. ill probably be doing
- "mild" (very mild) Photoshop picture editing
- Programming, C, android, java, maybe ill get into IOS programming
- Web browsing
- More programming and probably some python robotics simulation
Also ill play WoW, LoL and probably everquest next when it comes out... -
Your desktop will do all that stuff better than any Mac laptop.
Did you just want a portable machine instead? You'll be giving up a lot of power by going to a laptop , especially a Mac one.
Also keep in mind that that Retina MacBook Pro laptops are almost impossible to repair or upgrade yourself. -
ya i was thinking on something more portable, that i can use while on bed... in reality i dont even know what i want =(
-
Curious... why do you have 64 gb of RAM?
-
-
Seems like you'd run out of cores before RAM, you're at over 10gb per core
Any data processing/server work? I suppose you can work with matrices 4x as big as the average power user, squeeze out an extra .3% of accuracy on dem learning algorithms -
It really depends on what you want to do with it!

OS X is getting better with games but some titles still only have really shoddy ports. You can use boot camp to dual boot and that works pretty well but getting tech support for it can be an exercise in frustration.
WoW has an OS X client. Dunno about League. Check your games for compatibility before you think about making the switch.
Only get an Apple computer if you want that complete package of hardware and software, otherwise you'll be unhappy.
