what is the battery life of your macbook pro on bootcamp? i want to compare it to that of windows 7 as i will be doing heavy programming during my second year at uni. i want to know what will be better, vista or xp. i currently have w7 rc. i wanted to purchase it but i do not know when it will be released. therefore i wanted to go with something more stable. thank you in advance for your help.

w7 is supposed to be released in october if im not wrong. i use xp under bootcamp and i get about 2-4 hours when just doing normal things like surfing the web and idling. as for games.. i say a good solid 1-2 hours under xp. im also going to switch to w7 and will purchase when it comes out

When I was using XP, I was getting 2-4 from a full charge.

i have the june mbp 15 inch. bootcamped with xp. horrible experience.got 2 hours of battery life. im gonna install vista now.
FYI, w7 releases on 22nd october.

Which version of Vista? 64-bit or 32-bit?
Please tell me what the results are after...if you don't mind. The battery life and heat...after it has cooled down from installation. Cause it gets really hot during installation anyway.
