    Hi there,

So I recently got a new MBP and am loving it so far. The unibody design means there's no gaps or openings on the front for stuff to get in (I like) except for the keys. What's the best way to clean the keyboard? I tried cleaning the keyboard on my Dell with DustOff after removing most of the keys but it was surprisingly ineffective. What's the best way to clean under the keys? Keeping in mind that with the MBP the unibody makes it impossible to take the keyboard off without disassembling the whole computer.

Have you tried dust off on your Macbook? When I had a Macbook Pro 13 that was the most efective way. You could also try a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol.

Yeah, I would say compressed air cans are the way to go, not much else! I've always done that and it keeps it relatively clean!

I use canned air and a microfiber cloth with screen cleaner fluid and just lightly swipe it across the keyboard. It's effective for surface dust/grime.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping there was some trick to cleaning underneath the keys that I haven't heard of.

I check my keyboard every day for hair and dust. If I see something, I usually use a scrap of paper and a small brush to remove it.

Seriously just get a keyboard cover. I used to have a silicone one but now I went to the Moshi keyboard cover, its like 10x thinner and is awesome, dont even notice it after using it for a day. Best investment IMO as well as the Moshi arm rest/palm cover. When/if you go to resell your macbook it will look brand new as well.

    what Matt said.

I have a Marware keyboard cover and my Moshi is arriving tomorrow. I'll post a direct compairson. but these things are great. especially if you have hands that tend to sweat or otherwise rub keys smooth over time.

You will love it, its a lot more 'clear' then the silicone ones as well. Easy to clean (just dish soap and water).

I also love the moshi palm area layover. Its noticeable but is good piece of mind.
