The time on my new Macbook aluminum is wrong. Sometimes when the computer starts up it will autocorrect itself after a few minutes, but other times it does not. I have it properly set to synchronize with apple's ntp server and I have correctly set my time zone. I use bootcamp (xp) as well and the time is correct on that bootup. Anyone have any suggestions on what may be wrong?

The time sometimes gets messed up switching from XP to OS X with bootcamp.

It happens to me all the time when I use Boot Camp(vista).
Apparently there is a difference on how both Windows and OSX record time. Supposedly the Boot Camp drivers for Windows corrects this issue, but it doesn't always work especially if you haven't shutdown properly for Windows.

Is there a known solution? I'm properly rebooting and everything and i installed the proper drivers.

Click on your clock, open Date & Time, wait 3 seconds... there, now your clock should be fine... =D

    Yeah, it's a known issue...

My clock is 8 hours ahead in windows than in os x. It was the same with ubuntu -> windows. Since os x and linux are based on unix, I just assumed it was the way unix records the time versus windows. I've learned to live with it. :)

This doesn't solve the issue. I'm not really content with living with it considering that a lot of apps derive their time settings from your system time.

its a bootcamp issue. you could get rid of boot camp and that would brute force solve it.

    or

you could write a script on launch that updates the system time. if there is ever a solution for the problem from apple, this is how they will have to do it anyway. the bootcamp time issue is basically "unfixable" because windows and os x use the same resources to handle time, and they do it differently.

you could also not use OSX and just use windows. that would also solve the issue.

but if you need both OS's look into updating the system time on launch.

I'm having the same experience here with my new MB—no Boot Camp. Did you use migration assistant? I migrated from an older OSX on a 2002 iBook. I think I read it's a known issue with migration assistant, but I can't seem to find the thread where I read this (over at the Apple discuss). Anyway, I don't think this issue necessarily has to do with Boot Camp.
