Well it's pretty obvious, but I thought I'd like to share how I will be using time machine :D

If you didn't know, the new disk utility let's you create new partitions on the fly without restarting (booyah!). I created a 11.3GB (random number) partition, when into time machine settings, and excluded all system files, etc. The only thing I left was downloads, documents, desktop, pictures, and other folders of interest, totaling 6.3GB for the first backup.

I guess it's not the way it's supposed to be used, but I don't have an external hd yet, and I needed an excuse to use this cool feature!! STILL! This will probably be the first time that it's gonna feel awesome to lose an important file, cause then I can just use my little time traveling program and get it back!

This method is great for small backups, mostly dealing with accidental deletions, going back to a file at a certain point, etc. Of course it doesn't address the issue of your hd going bonkers and losing ALL your data.

If you have a bigger hd of course you can allocate more space for other stuff, but I just wanted something for my documents other than burning them to dvd. This, with iDisk, and dvd backups are gonna be great for protecting my files. Until I get my sweet 1TB mybook studio edition :D
