So Time Machine isn't working anymore for me. I had been using it, then my computer had a problem so I restored from my drive. Now, it'll try backing up to that external drive, but a bit into it it'll say that I unplugged the drive and that I may have lost my data and I shouldn't do that, and it'll fail. I don't unplug my drive or anything - in fact, the drive isn't even USB powered. Any thoughts? Should I try reformatting the drive or something? I'd prefer not doing that, since it still has all my old backups.

you might try resetting it as the Time Machine drive. go to Time Machine preferences, and set the backup device to none, then just reset the drive as the Time Machine backup drive.

I'll give that a shot. I think I found out what's happening, though - I think, for some reason, the drive is restarting at that point. I'm not sure if the problem is with the drive or the Mac, though...
