    hello,

My situation is this. My wireless router is upstairs in my house. My mbp and xbox360 and printer and ext. hard drives are ALL located downstairs. currently, i am running a 50ft ethernet all the way upstairs to my router in order for my xbox to connect to xbox live.

my question is, if i purchased the time capsule, would i be able to use it as a wireless bridge for the xbox?

xbox to timecapsule via ethernet, time capsule to router via wireless.

    possible or no? thanks!

oh, one more question. any reason why the wireless apple keyboard doesnt have the numeric pad? id be all over it if it did!

Probably not with Time Capsule itself. You'd need a Time Capsule and then an Airport Express which would be your bridge (I have this setup at home with two Airport Expresses and an Airport Extreme Base Station).

I might be wrong (i don't have a TC) but I was under the impression that it functioned as a router as well, ie it was basically an airport extreme with a hard-drive stuck in it. Thus you should be able to do this. I have found the airport utility to be a really easy tool to work with for setting up stuff, I would have a poke around with that, and a read of the user manual.

as for the keyboard, I'm actually the other way round, I love the smaller form factor, as it fits my uses better.

unfortunately i dont own the tc yet, and i would only get one if what i would want to do is possible with it. anyone who owns one have any experience using the time capsule as a bridge?

and about the keyboard, ive got a 47 inch hd tv that i use for gaming between the computer and xbox. so the numeric keypad really helps when hotkeying units in rts games like starcraft :p

Time Capsule is a router as well. Same thing as the Airport Extreme Base Station, except with a HD built in.

I'm just not sure if you can use the TC/AEBS as a Wireless Bridge, or if you need an Airport Express to do it.
