so i am in the market for the 27 inch thunderbolt display for my MBP. On the apple store it is available for $999. On amazon, it was for $949 yesterday and it is $958.73 right now. Amazing. I can also buy a refurbished thunderbolt display for $849 from the apple store. Any suggestions on where i can get the best deal for this and whether i should buy Apple care for it? Any feedback on the refurbished thunderbolt display?

A refurbished model should be back to factory standards with any previously experienced issues being fixed. It's up to up I if you want to buy refurbished. A $100 price diffence on a $1000 monitor doesn't seem like it is that much but you have to decide if that is worth it. Technically speaking, the refurbished unit should go through more testing than models coming from the factory. In factories, new tech isn't highly tested. Only about one in 15-20 units are tested, some math is applied, and they get an idea of how the factory is performing. However, every single refurbished unit goes through testing before it is sent back out to the stores.

Buying refurbished is going to be the best deal that you can find in a store. Otherwise you may want to hit up eBay or Craigslist.
