Is there a single external device that makes use of Thunderbold port? I know a few have been announced but are there any that are for sale or have reviews out, anything more solid than a demo at some trade fair or some press release?

It's Thunderbol t, not bold. And there's nothing out yet so you'd be limited to using it as a Displayport for the moment.

Just noticed that the page says "available summer 2011". So I guess technically, it doesn't qualify as "a single external device that makes use of Thunderbold port", yet.

Mini displayport adapters work with thunderbolt. The port itself is physically the same as a mini displayport connection so manufacturers don't have to do much to support it.

Summer 2011 lines up with what Apple and Intel were saying when Thuderbolt were first shown off as they both stated that accessories would be available around that time. I am actually more interested in an external adapter that offers up a series of USB 2.0, USB 3.0, FireWire 800, etc. ports so that I could hook up all of my old external drives and HDMI cable into one single port. Right now, my MBP is looking very "PC-ish" as it has five different wires coming out of it and they are all starting to get tangled.
