My girlfriends is looking for a new laptop and she really like the macbook. I am wondering if the MacBook can connect to my D-link WBR-1310 Wireless router and surf the net as i do ? This may sound dub but i'm really not a mac person ...

it should be able to as long as she has wireless on her mac, and you set the router to allow her in.

Do some research online. Maybe DLink forums. I have a Buffalo router (Linksys hardware with custom firmware) and Macbooks have trouble connecting. I was also briefly usring a dsl modem with built-in wireless that would not allow Macs to connect. At my other house, I have an SMC router that workes perfectly with everything, but you really should check around on Dlink/Mac forums to see if your model is compatible.

Be careful with it. Some ISPs ask you if you have a PC or Mac when you sign up so they know which router to send you. I know mines is PC only, which I'm kinda angry about b/c I just got a Macbook Pro and I'm stuck to the wall with an ethernet cord. :-(

Looks like you'll be alright http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127079
"system Requirements Cable or DSL Modem
    Computer with:
    Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2000 SP4 or Mac OS X (v10.4/v10.3)
    Internet Explorer 6
    CD-ROM Drive
    Network Interface Card"

I think when the previous poster said "router" he meant modem. Some cable modems offer wireless connectivity out of the box. But I agree that this should be a non-issue. Hypothetically anything is possible so research is worth looking into, but don't take eveyrthing you read for fact. Sometimes people just aren't doing things correctly and it may not be plainly obvious what they're missing in a forum. In any case that a modem/router is advertised as PC only, it may be labled so because it offers a software CD/DVD made for windows, not mac. That doesn't necessarily mean you won't be able to connect to it, or administrate it. you can always test out the addresses 192.168.*.1 in which case the * would be 1, 2, 100 and so on.. try it. The only other thing is to make sure you're using an encryption your wireless enabled laptop can support. I believe current gen macs can use even from WEP128 to WPA2. If you have trouble open everything wide open with out encryption..then add encryption..then obsure the ID. good luck

I think that mac works with routers as far as you set the router right.
