That is interesting. So the 13" macbook (white unibody) 2010 model lasts 27 minutes longer than the 13" macbook pro (unibody) 2010 model. And the 13" macbook pro (unibody) 2010 model lasts longer than the 15" macbook pro 2010 model by 4 minutes.

IMO each machine needs to have the battery calibrated and the usages depends as well. For example the 13" macbook pro comparisons might have to wait until the batteries are calibrated properly and give or take 5-10 minutes deviations will occur. Same goes for the 15" macbook pro, maybe the auto graphics switch sometimes turns on the 330m instead of the intel gma?

Strange thing is that the 15" has more battery than the 13" built in. It should last a couple hours longer. When I had the 17" i7 2.66GHz with using only the intel GPU with wifi and on 2-3 notches of brightness, I got right around 12 hours of battery life of continuous websurfing (with occasional youtube videos) and on and off of using vmware fusion with windows xp. But I did install click2flash, where it would disable all the flash content from every page and only active if you click on it (if you want to view it) this saves ALOT of battery life and so useful.

Maybe the White Macbook keeps cooler because of the plastic? So less fan? It would be nice if cnet was a little more specific about what they do exactly for their tests.

Just watching youtube on 720p opposed to 480p or just having the brightness set one or two notches higher could more than account for 20-30 minute difference.

I think the difference may be the extra 2 GB of RAM and different screen in the MBP. If you look at the individual reviews the MBP uses more power even in sleep mode. How much power does 2 GB or RAM eat up?
