Anyone get their battery replaced by a third party company or could recommend somewhere to get it done? My battery only lasts about a day, which isn't bad, but it used to last 3-4 with light usage. Since mine's crackerjacked, I'm guessing I can't send it to Apple for replacement, unless someone cares to inform me otherwise. Thanks for any help.

You could always just restore it prior to sending it back to Apple. My iPod Touch was having overheating issues and it was jailbroken, but I just restored it and they accepted it with no questions asked. Also, if your battery is below x% of it's original, they'll replace it for free (as long as it's still in warranty).

My recommendation would be to buy a phone you don't have to jailbreak, and with user replaceable battery, next time.

I don't know why I didn't think of that before. You've completely changed my perspective on the matter. :nah:

I don't really have to re-set it. I've got pages of apps. It'll be a pain to re-jailbreak it and restore the apps. Unless replacing the battery does it already. I was hoping to save doing it for when 3.0 comes out. I've also watched it being done on YouTube. While I think I'm completely capable of doing it, I'd just rather pay someone. I'll have someone to yell at if something goes wrong, which won't be the case if I do it.

Truthfully, it's worth resetting in order for you to get your battery fixed. Just take note of what apps you had so you can replace them.

The restore process is about 10 minutes, and the re-crackerjacking (favorite new term) and SSHing will take around 20-30 mins. So it has to be worth it!

I'm running 2.21. I've been running it for a while. The battery life has lessened while using the same firmware.
