Anyone get their battery replaced by a third party company or could recommend somewhere to get it done? My battery only lasts about a day, which isn't bad, but it used to last 3-4 with light usage. Since mine's crackerjacked, I'm guessing I can't send it to Apple for replacement, unless someone cares to inform me otherwise. Thanks for any help.

You could always just restore it prior to sending it back to Apple. My iPod Touch was having overheating issues and it was jailbroken, but I just restored it and they accepted it with no questions asked. Also, if your battery is below x% of it's original, they'll replace it for free (as long as it's still in warranty).

You could try the following if you wanted to DIY, but there's always a risk involved. http://www.geardiary.com/2008/06/04/iphone-battery-replacement-798-shipped/
Or you could try backing all of your information up, resetting it back to factory standards, and then giving the Apple Replacement Program a try. http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/service/battery/
Hope that helps! -
My recommendation would be to buy a phone you don't have to jailbreak, and with user replaceable battery, next time.

I don't really have to re-set it. I've got pages of apps. It'll be a pain to re-jailbreak it and restore the apps. Unless replacing the battery does it already. I was hoping to save doing it for when 3.0 comes out. I've also watched it being done on YouTube. While I think I'm completely capable of doing it, I'd just rather pay someone. I'll have someone to yell at if something goes wrong, which won't be the case if I do it. -
Truthfully, it's worth resetting in order for you to get your battery fixed. Just take note of what apps you had so you can replace them.
The restore process is about 10 minutes, and the re-crackerjacking (favorite new term) and SSHing will take around 20-30 mins. So it has to be worth it! -
which firmware are you running?I was getting one day with 1.1.4,but with 2.2 I am getting 2-4!

I'm running 2.21. I've been running it for a while. The battery life has lessened while using the same firmware.
