So i love my current laptop (asus f8sv), but im kind of a hardware junky with extra money and a low tolerance for satisfaction. I heard a rumor about the new MBP's coming with a 8800mgt and instantly went into a drool fest.

Although im not a fan of osx, and im completely illiterate to anything apple (and im happy about it), i do love the build of the MBP's. Which brings me to my questions.

I know about parallels, vmware, and bootcamp (my friend uses this on his mb), but i was wondering if its possible to do a more traditional primary drive with Windows Xp on it? Also, which mac to xp booting option offers the best graphics performance?

    Thanks in advance

I highly doubt you'll ever see a 8800M GT in a MBP. Probability of that happening is approaching zero.
I don't think it makes sense to pay extra for a MBP just to run XP or vista on it. BTW, running XP or Vista natively will offer the best performance. Don't try to run games in a VM environment if you care about performance.

For those who look to mainly run Windows, the M1530 has been receiving nothing but glowing marks. Certainly a good deal.

And you can always look around for that underhanded company Psystar to quench your OS X curiousity.

    :p

As an owner of a Sager 5793, with a 8800M GTX, I can tell you there is absolutely *NO* way Apple would even consider putting one of those loud, heavy, hot behemoths in their laptops. That would be just plain silly.

Apple does not make gaming machines. They make stylish work machines. Heck, the 8600GT they use now is overkill.

Where the heck do you get your rumors from? You need better sources.

For best performance, boot into Windows natively using Boot Camp instead of virtualling with Parallels/VMware Fusion :).

And I would not expect the 8800 series to show up on the MBP anytime soon. I'm expecting the current 8600s to stay in place for another year or so.
