Thinking of buying a 2009 Macbook off ebay and they have those STOP antitheft stickers.

Hello I was looking at buying a 5.2 off ebay. The seller has several and the price is good. The only thing is that they all have those STOP anti theft stickers on the lid and have been deactivated. My question is there any way to remove those stickers without damaging the notebook or would I be stuck with them? Maybe a skin would be an option, but would prefer to remove the stickers if at all possible. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any advice. Here is a picture.

Are those the rigid metal stickers, the metal stickers that are thinner and flimsier (almost like really thing aluminum foil), or are they plastic? I have encountered all sorts of anti-theft stickers and they seem to vary as to what kind they are. The IT department at work switches between the thick metal ones and the really flimsy metal stickers. The flimsy stickers are easy to remove, you just have to be careful, slow, and I suggest using a softer plastic scraping tool. The thick metal ones don't come off as easily. I've always had to use some type of chemical, Goo Off works. Place it around the edges of the sticker and slowly start to push it in once the edges peal up. Again, I suggest using a soft plastic tool for this so that the outer plastic casing of the MacBook doesn't get scratched (those get scratched just by looking at them). The thick plastic stickers can be removed the same way as the thick metal ones.

A skin/sticker coverup would be the easiest option but those stickers would still be there.

Thanks for that kornchild. I'm not sure if they are plastic or metal and that's the main thing. I want to inflict the least amount of damage that I can and I would prefer to remove them rather than to put a cover over them.

Then I recommend buying some Goo Off (that shouldn't harm the plastic of your MacBook, it doesn't do anything to the paint on my apartment walls and they used cheap stuff), starting at the edges, and slowly start making your way in with a thin, plastic scraper.

those look like they could also be the REALLY good stickers that are impossible to remove ( I see them on toughbooks now and then ) to remove is to buy a new case normally as they will bind with aluminum or Mg.
