I have never been a huge fan of apple. But I need a new laptop and I am really leaning towards an MBP. One of the main reasons I have been so drawn to it is the fact that I can now put windows on it.
My main question is I pick up a copy of vista or xp and I use boot camp is it just that simple to put windows on an mbp? or is there anything else I should know?
Btw... this forum has been full of great information that has really led me to look more into apple. Thanks

Well, I was very much in the same boat as you just a week ago. Long time windows user, turned to using a MBP dual boot with OS X and XP. The XP install on a MPB isn't bad at all, (if everything goes according to plan, that is).
After I had installed XP and was installing the drivers using my Boot camp burned CD, XP crashed in the middle of the processors PCI bus driver install. It wasn't good. I had to delete the partion and reinstall XP again. It worked the second time. But it took my about 8 hours to get everything running with the new drivers, but I doubt the same thing would happen to someone else.
The only thing I really noticed that's a problem with XP on the MBP is that the battery life stinks (2 hours max on XP, while on OS X 4+ hours) and that some of the extra perks of OS X don't transfer over to XP. Oh, and the keyboard is a little different, which makes you have to learn what the apple keys mean in XP.
I use OS X for my pictures/movies while I use XP for my gaming/other software I need to run on windows. I would highly recommend the MBP with the dual boot. -
It is pretty much that simple. Boot Camp is maturing well and many of the issues early on have been fixed. However I would not recommend buying a MBP if you plan on not using OS X. You can get a Windows machine for less that will have support and be designed to run Windows. If you will be using OS X then I say go for it.
