I'm thinking about buying a Mac Book Pro 15, but I'm wondering if they have any LCD problems. I saw that thing on April 1st, but that seemed like an April Fools joke or something.

    Any feedback?

There are some slight issues out there. The infamous "black beams" coming from the bottom of the screen. Slight yellowing of the screen at the bottom of the screen.

I believe I have both issues but on such a small scale that I have to turn up the brightness extra high, kill the surrounding lights, change to an all-white wallpaper, and hide the dock. Then, I can make out faint beams of black blurs rising from the bottom of the screen as well as slight yellowing.

But it never interferes with my computing experience especially with wallpaper and a dock present. So I'm more than pleased with my recently purchased MBP.

More demanding users or those with a more discerning eye may feel differently.

(I've purchased AppleCare as well so if the problem worsens, I'll definitely be getting it fixed. I've owned the unit 2-3 weeks now and again, the issue seems to be stable and undetectable without doing the aforementioned)

I haven't heard any major issues with the screens. I'd say you're safe :).

I have the Macbook. I'm happy with my (smaller) LCD. Apple has a good rep for quality so I'd be surprised if the thing you saw is a real concern. I'll wait for some actual MBP owners to come along and confirm this but I think you should give some thought to how you want to use the machine and which programs you would leave behind if you don't run boot camp or parallels. I'm getting along fine without any M$ products on my Macbook, but I do have Crossover installed for tinkering with running some of my favorite smaller, simpler windows apps under Wine. Nothing I can't do without though really just tinkering. I have found everything I need on the Mac side with no need to look back. The more time you spend doing research on apps, the easier your transition will be.

I'm all love when it comes to the LED screen.

These 45nm ones also offer better battery life and run very cool. I'm kinda shocked at the heat difference between this 2.4GHz 45nm and my 2.16GHz 65nm.

I just recently got my MBP 15" and I love it. I have no screen issues at all.
