I just noticed this. I were surfing the net, and the screen frequently changes its brightness and caught my attention. I were like, uhmm, so wierd ,how come the brightness keep changing on its own. Then I figured that out :p everytime when I get close to the top of the LCD to cover some lights from it, the brightness immediately decreased, and when I move away brightness increased. So there must be a sensor near the webcam, am I right?

    yes,
there is an ambient light sensor.
To turn this off go to sys pref>displays>un-check the box at the bottom for adjusting the display according to light conditions.
