Does anyone play the Sims 3 on a macbook or a macbook pro? I can't figure out how to use the trackpad in game, for example, what gesture is for what zoom in and zoom out.

Not only that, Anti-Aliasing and Shadows do not work, also the speed adjustments do not work properly, plus a crap load of other problems. Works fine in windows tho.

And it didn't melt!? That's remarkable.

I wonder how hot notebooks can get before they either ignite or turn to liquid.

wow.. you need to manually control your fan speeds and not let that happen... can try reseting the SMC... it should spin the fans up to full speed before it hits 100, or use SMCfancontrol

My Unibody handles the Sims 3 just fine. No 100 degrees or anything. I always set my fans to blow full when I play a game, and SMC fan control and iStat Menus show 75-77 degrees celsius on my computer.

Anyways, to zoom in, use two fingers, just like to scroll. To rotate the camera, hold control down and use the arrow keys. To pan the camera hold two fingers on your trackpad, click with one and move the other one around.

I havent tried Sims3 yet, but ive been playing other games like Oblivion useing the same Cider version i stole out of Sims3 (fun fun), and even running the machine super hard with temps around 82º to 85º with 6000rpm... I have a lot of games thatpush this to the max and it never plays over 85º with max fan speed.

Yeah, I spent a few hours every night on my macbook playing sims 3, and it definitely has more problem on the mac than on my desktop :(
I did figure out that a three finger top-to-bottom swipe is for zoom out, but I need to do that real fast and carefully, otherwise It wouldn't work.....
Right now I am having problemn with the toon movement. There is alwasy 1 or 2 or even 3,4 seconds of delay before a new action, which is very frustrating. It doesn't happen on Windows though....

Oh , and also the temperature, it is not too bad on the macbook. It is around 70C, and I can hear that the fan is spinning like crazy, but I am not using any fan spped control program, it just adjusts the speed automatically.
