Whats the best way to knock off about $500 off the $2000 (+ tax) price tag?
I will be a student so thats - $200, and can get a "free" $200 4 gb ipod nano and $100 printer after rebate. Speaking of rebates, how reliable is apple with them, I've gotten burned before from other companies. Also how much can I reasonably get by selling the printer + ipod. $200? If so that brings the price to $1600 + tax so about $1752.25. This is still stretching my budget and I would have to go through quite a hassle to get this price.
Is getting a refurb a viable option? They seem to be heavily discounted on the apple site but they don't have any new models as they obviously just came out. I am not familiar with how they price current models but at what price and when can I reasonably expect a santa rosa refurb?
Also are there better discounts available?
I will be a college student as mentioned above
My moms a teacher
My dad is retired millitary
and my brother is active military
I know dell has a lot of discounts for military people but does apple do the same?
In short, I'm cheap but how unrealistic is it to get a santa rosa MBP by early august for $1500?

The only discounts can you get are from being a student/teacher or probably working for Apple

I am planning to buy and SR MBP with EPP and a free iPod.
I am worried about the Free iPod Rebate too -
i know many different people that have got their rebates back no problem. and apple is a huge huge company so if the were screwing people on their rebates it would be well known.
The MBP is too expensive
