I've been thinking about carrying my MacBook Pro around. Right now, I only use it hooked up to my desktop setup at home. I've been debating between a lot of different cases and a lot of different styles. This isn't an advice/suggestions thread, more like a thread for people to post what case, bag, etc. they have on/carry/etc. their Apple laptops with, with impressions, pictures, etc.

I use a case something like this one: http://www.tamrac.com/1705.htm

Sometimes I'm asked why the thin style, with no room for accessories, besides the MagSafe adapter that is. It's fairly simple: When I go mobile, it's because I want to be mobile. I don't carry around mice and USB hubs and external drives and stuff like that. When I want a laptop bag, I want room for a laptop.

Admittedly, I sometimes shove documents in the side pockets, but there you are.

And, of course, the exception to this rule is when I go photo-shooting. There's a different story altogether...

I don't bring my notebook out enough to warrant a case anymore :p. When I do, its just in my backpack.

This is on my way to me now: Booq

Realized that now that I am out of school I mostly carry my laptop around only when I travel, so I wanted something with a bit more protection. First time for me with a bag like this....had always used backpacks and messengers until now, so I'm a bit curious as to whether I'll like it. Will post some pics in the accessories forum once I get it.

I was thinking of getting that since I got my MacBook Pro (the 15" version, anyway). Definitely post some impressions and pictures if you get the chance, maybe even make a video. I've had a disappointing experience with Booq in the past, but this looks like a great bag.

I've had a booq bag in the past as well, and while it lasted 3+ years and I was very satisfied with it, I thought it could have held up better (feet came off of its bottom and the booq badge as well), but there wasn't anything else out there that suited my tastes this time around.

I'll post something next weekend (family is bringing it to me from the US) in the Accessories forum thread "Links to Notebook Bag Makers..."

Here is what i use with my Macbook Pro Unibody 15"

    http://targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=CVR400

Its really nice, top loading slide in, not the big fold open kind i hate... 15" MBP barely slides in, like no excess room on the sides, so the bag isnt gigantic. Plenty of room to add in any other equipment I have to carry too.

I use an Incase backpack for my 15.4" MBP unibody. I like the faux-fur lining inside that keeps my case from scratching.

I carry my Macbook around in an Incase.. case. :p I personally like the older generation of Incase sleeves (the rounded zippers, and colours) as opposed to the newer ones. Here is a random photo I found online of the case I have:

edit: Why don't images show up anymore??

I use the InCase neoprene sleeve with my 13" Aluminum. Then it goes in my backpack, an old Eddie Bauer model they don't sell anymore, but which has a padded compartment that fits up to 15.6" widescreen notebooks (I occasionally toss my ThinkPad in there instead of the Mac, depends on my needs at the time).
