First thing, I'd like to thank everyone here. I've been looking at laptops for about half a year, debating over which one to buy, and everyone here was extremely helpful. No one was yelling out "maCs R 4 teh newb" but everyone was willing to offer good advice and explanations. I ended up purchasing a MacBook Pro through my school (I got the education discount and then another $100 off) and I'm very happy with it. Thanks to everyone here for all the help.

That being said, I'm now asking for more help. I'm having some trouble with viewing certain websites. I read a good number of webcomics and I can't view Ctrl+Alt+Del, Dueling Analogs, or VG Cats. I also can't view 1up.com. I've tried both BonEcho (Optimized Firefox) and Safari. Do those sites not work on those browsers, am I just experiencing some random problem, or are the sites down? One other thought I had was maybe my firewall was blocking them but I didn't set up my firewall up.

Speaking of that, how do you set the firewall up?

I have the same laptop you do and CAD and 1up works fine for me.. you might just need the latest version of flash.

Edit: And I use Safari and Firefox

Every one of those sites seems to be working for me in Firefox and Safari. What type of error message are you getting or will they simply not load?

FYI, the Mac OSX Firewall is Off by default, but you can check your settings by going to System Preferences --> Sharing --> Firewall.
