Are there any known technical flaws relative to the MacBooks or MacBook Pros? I know previous generations of Apple laptops have suffered by way of frequent logic board failure and the like, and was curious to know if any legends or frequent deaths have been reported in the new generation notebooks?

Well, a lot of the macbook pros seem to have yellow screens, and I had to through several macbooks to get one that didn't vibrate, so perhaps that answers your question. I don't think the defects are "widespread" though - it's just what happens when you up your production (like apple has been doing lately due to increasing demand).

I had to return my new MBP because of a yellowish (Samsung) screen. It was glossy to note, my second and current MBP lucky for me has a glossy LG screen and I couldn't be happier.
The LED Backlight still bleeds a tiny tiny bit but nothing compared to the CCFL bleeds I have seen.
There is a very faint buzzing/whine if you put your ear up to the keyboard and your in a quiet room. Again, not nearly as bad as my (4) HP dv6000 series notebooks with Intel CPUs.
Lastly, if you end up getting one make sure you always use the (grounded) AC adapter connection. I have heard of people being shocked and constantly feeling electric currents. In general it's a good idea to use a grounded adapter anyways. -
Since when do they make nongrounded adapters for computers?
-
There is a non grounded option you can use with the macbook and macbook pros. I'm not sure what the difference is.

If you just plug the adapter into the wall (atleast with the small 85w mbp adapter) then it is not grounded. It only gets grounded when you put that extension on the adapter.
Technical flaws?
