I'm not bothered by it. It can be tapered or it can keep the current MBP style, I think both are fine!

I voted no, but I wouldn't mind if Apple rounded the edge by the palm rest a bit. The right angle can get a bit uncomfortable after laying your arms on it for an extended period of time.

I don't like the idea of drop down ports, but I don't think it will have edges like the Air, since it would be hard to get a CD drive in there. So I dono how they will do it. If they can do it with out drop down ports and some how get a CD drive in there, I don't care.

heck no! it just doesn't work for me but the inner edges should be tapered like chris27 said , that would be fine but nothing like the mba. ugh, that was extreme tapering. wonder what steve was drinking when he got that epiphany.

Voted no, because it detracts from the looks of the MBP.

There's probably a good chance the MBP will be "rounded" in some way. Things seems to be moving in that direction. Look at the new iPod nano, and the ipod Touch, the Air etc...

based on the design direction going on with the nano and macbook air, I say that this is inevitable.

Just thinner please! maybe .9 inches. It could be a bit thinner on the front edge with one of those new ultra-slim CD drives like on the Lenovo X300 or Toshiba R500.

I don't care just so long as they can fit everything in it :) :) Without having to buy external this-n-that..I just want the MBP to come out I've been waiting for a couple of years....

Nothing drastic, but slightly tapered edges would be very welcome in my oppinion. Apple won't turn the MBP case into a thicker variation of the MBA case. I doubt from a technical standpoint, without making the laptop much bigger than it is now, that a very tapered MBP is even possible.

I think most of us will be very happy with the changes they make.

I voted for not being bothered if tapered edges are featured in the design. I like the look of the MBA, I think a similar design might look good on the rumored new Macbooks.

Darn, seeing as how MBs will probably get the same/similar design as the MBPs it makes me feel less special. lol...Ya no tapered edges for me! Also the MBP is really thin enough...I mean I'd rather apple keep it at 1" and put in better specs than having it 0.1" thinner with weaker specs.

For sure, but I think the current Macbook can really be improved upon. The base model should be much cheaper or improve the hardware, add full Superdrive to it, 2GB RAM standard. I think the difference between the MB and MBP can remain at the graphics card. Other than that, both models deserve top tier design and specs. I like 13 inch laptops better than 15 inch laptops because I like to use my laptop on the go with good battery life, I'm sure many others feel the same.

If the MacBook air didn't have the tapered edge I would have bought one already.
