Hi guys,
Yesterday when I tried to play a DVD in my Macbook (alum, 2.4GHz), my Superdrive wouldn't accept the DVD. When I usually put a DVD in, about halfway in the superdrive will sort of "grab" it and pull it in. I haven't used it in a very long time, if that makes a difference. Now it will not do anything (doesn't grab disc, or anything). Any ideas?
-
in system profiler does it show up under disc burning, or serial ata devices
-
Under all the info, it says Power Off. Is that anything to be worried about? -
theres no disc stuck in it?
don't laugh... seen it done before -
When I hold the eject key, nothing comes up on the screen like it usually does. Not sure if it's dead or what. -
the cable inside might have popped loose... not sure if there is a way to really disable the drive.

I suggest using a vacuum to lightly vacuum the opening of the drive, or compressed air.
Also on mine I need to push the cd almost all the way in before it grabs it. -
Superdrive isn't working at all
