Hello,
I installed VLC and now rar files are by default opened with VLC. Any way to change this back to the default decompression in OS X?
Thanks.
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. Anyway, I take it that the Archive Utility doesn't open rar by default, but creates a .cpgz file instead?

I use stuffit expander. its the only free item they dont sell. works great on all compressed files including tar and many oddball ones.

UnRarX is free and will take care of rar files.

Stop VLC from opening RAR files by default
