This will be the third week since I order the 15.4 inch MacBook pro... And absolutely nothing is being shipped! I don't know what is going on, but they said 1-3 weeks, this is the third week, and it would take about 3-5 days before it is actually shipped, nothing is shipped yet! If anyone could tell me if these dates are getting longer, it would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, just a 15.4 inch, 160GB 5400RPM, 2 GB, just the one ordered... I bought it from a retail store that sold Apple computers.

I got it from a local retail known as Computer's Plus. Its a franchise, so every store is different.

I have never heard of Computer's Plus. But you should call them about your order.

Do you live near an Apple Store? Maybe you could first cancel your current order with Computer's Plus and then go to a local Apple Store to make the purchase.

Sorry to be so forward, but why didn't you just order direct from Apple? Was this place cheaper or something?

Why did you ever order through some lousy local franchise when you can buy directly from apple? Had you ordered from apple you would have had your laptop within a week.

Lifetime warranty. Meaning I won't have to send it off to apple, they will upgrade whatever I want for free, I just pay for the parts. They'll remove any sort of virus or spyware it may get. Pretty good deal, I'm giving one more week before I decide to wait 'till October.

Next step, go to their Store. Bring any type of receipt/documentation you have.

Lets keep going with a What If Analysis type progression, starting with going to their store as Step 2.

If the manager suspiciously closes the store every time he sees you,
Step 3: Come back after dark, rob the joint, and set the building on fire.

    Joking, of course.

cancel the order and order it from Apple, lifetime warranty on a computer is pointless when it really comes down to it.

Wow! Lifetime warranty. Definitely fishy. I think it is best to clarify this with ur seller. If nothing resolves within these 2 days, cancel the order and buy from Apple store. After all, I am pretty sure the lifetime warranty will not cover every part, probably just for some cheap parts. Sorry for being too forward.

Well.. I dont think its about that local store. I ordered mine from Apple store(amsterdam) and its been four weeks now. Just asked couple of days ago whats going on and all they can say that status is still as a "order".

I ordered mine with 160Gb HD & Glossy screen. So I think that Europa is still having some serious delivery issues. Glad im not in hurry.. but I really hope I will get it soon!

This might be nation specific, but where I'm at, I've heard people who order from any Apple stores (Apple specific, re-seller or otherwise) have had longish delays before their orders get to them. However, according to people who have ordered online, Apple makes it a policy to make it reach you by the estimated date.

Well I live in Kentucky (Please, no "hillbilly" jokes. :() Anyways, I hope to get it in before September, I don't want to get it in the middle of September, then have to install Leopard a couple weeks later. Too much money. =\

You should at least call and check on the progress. If all else fails, cancel and get it directly from Apple - their ship times are much better, and they'd be willing to expedite it to one-day shipping for free.

I also live in Kentucky, and I must say that I've never even heard of Computers Plus. Their site looks legit, and they have actual standing stores. I would say just go talk to them.

They said next week. Mind you, I live in Owensboro, on the western side of Kentucky. There is a couple in this area, tri-state at least. But as I said, it "should" be in by next week, "hopefully" If not, I'll probably just wait 'till Leopard comes out, and buy me a cheap computer rig, 'till I can get my beautiful MacBook Pro. :(

I ordered one a few days ago and I am "supposed" to get it on the 27th or something. The reason I bought it from apple online was to get a glossy 15.4". Apple store didn't have them (they are idiots in SLC, UT mind you). I keep drooling over one that CompUSA has, same specs non glossy. The screen looks very nice! Ah patience... I am calling them up to see if I can get an ETA.
