I am running on a 2.2ghz SR MBP and after installing 10.5.3 SC/SC:BR stopped working. Anyone else encounter the same problem and, better yet, come up with a solution?

I just hope my MBP can handle SC 2, preferably on the mac side... but I was really hoping to beat BW before SC 2 came out (I was almost done with the Terran campaign :( plus it's the only game that I brought with me to China on my mac side, besides Peggle and WC3. Guess I'll have to go out tonight and buy some game for a dollar or two, I was thinking Bioshock....

I think I have an idea of how to fix this but I don't know how to do what I want to do on a mac.... anyone have an idea of how to set the MBP to render graphics from software as opposed to the GPU? My thought is that 10.5.3 updated graphics drivers and perhaps these drivers aren't compatible with SC

You shouldn't be worried on if SC2 will run well on the MBP. The MBP is well suited for handling SC2. I've loaded World of Warcraft and turned up the graphics settings to full blast and the game ran very well (on both Mac OSX and Windows XP/Vista).

WoW isn't really that graphics intensive compared to some of the newer games. There's currently no way to tell if SC2 will be playable in OSX.

i would think SC2 will be similar to C&C3 as far as requirements go.

I think it has to do with 10.5.3 dropping 256 colors for the 8800 and 8600.

Best bet is to fire off e-mails and letters to blizzard or whomever keeps starcraft up-to-date nowadays.

Perhaps, but there run to support a game and feature which wouldn't be applicable to many apps since StarCraft was released in 1998 doesn't show too much promise. Best method is to seek both.
