My one month old UMBP has some annoying glitch on the spotlight. Every time I type a letter on the spotlight, the whole spotlight box (including the search results) flickers. It didn't happen with my early mbp before, and I didn't realize until today, so I'm not sure if it happens after I install anything.

Does anyone else experience similar issue? Can anyone recommend any way to troubleshoot this? I tried reindexing the hard drive, but it doesn't resolve the problem.

ah, apparently it only happens when running on battery, that's why I don't usually notice that.

    Still, is this normal?

but it doesnt happen when the computer is plugged in, and I also re-index my hard drive last night, and it didn't really help. The guy at macrumor said that apple guy told him it was a faulty videocard.

Anyway, I went to the Apple Store in Toronto today, and, out of 12ish macbook pro (both 13 and 15"), only one that behaves normally (or abnormally in this case :) ), and that's the one with removable batteries and 9C85 display. The genius said that this a known problem with the software and it'll be fixed by the next update..hmmm....
