Just wondering how the 2.4GHz, 1 gig ram, iMac holds up? I am only going to be doing word processing, excel with Office 2007, email, and web surfing. I also have the odd photo editing program like Adobe Photoshop. I don't intend to play any games or anything. Will the above specs run ok based on what I want to do?

I currently have Vista running on 1 gig and its quite slow and lags. Not sure on the iMac. Thanks!

it is definitely worth it to spend the $50 or so it will cost to upgrade the machine to 2GB of RAM (if you upgrade yourself).

And still worth it even if you configure the machine with more RAM right from Apple.

While most people will be perfectly fine with 1GB, it is definitely a good time to buy RAM for these particular machines.

Leopard gets a performance boost with 2 GB ram. The 1.25GB i have in my (admittedly slow) PB makes it run sluggish.

Buy that system you spoke of and get memory in matched pairs from there. You'll thank yourself later.

I ran mine on 1GB for about a month, then bumped up to 4GB. For what I was doing at first (Office, web browsing, iTunes) it was fine with 1GB. Then I started running more apps and doing more things, so an upgrade in RAM made sense.
