I bought one of these and use it on my MBP. I have tested with and without it to see the temp difference only for the CPU. It makes only an extremely small difference if any (1 degree Celsius). After I ran a processor intense program I pull off cover and entire bottom of the MBP except the left rear portion (this corner is the only hot spot) (where the speck cover has extra holes in the bottom to cool) is cool . Has anyone checked what the temperatures run while gaming with the 6750M graphics card and one of these cases vs without?

I can't say anything for the MBP version, but I just got the Speck black satin case for the MBA and I don't see any significant changes in temp.

I have used Speck cases on my 13" alu MacBook (sold), my son's unibody MacBook, my wive's 11.5" MBA and my current 15" MacBook Pro. I have been very please with the fit and the peace of mind they provide...

    Steve,

I am curious. How long have have you used these cases? Also, have you ever removed any of the cases after some time, to see if infiltrated dirt/sand/dust has in any way rubbed on the aluminum body so as to cause blemishes on the exterior of the computer?

I used a similar clear case on my iPhone1, and it marred up the exterior rear aluminum panel of the phone pretty good. More damage, I think, than if I had not used a case at all. That experience has always made me leery of doing the same to one of my unibody type MB's with a Speck case.

I had the alu MB for over a year before I sold it. When I took it out of the Speck case it was pristine (the buyer was amazed). I didn't notice much dust caught between the case and the laptop and definitely no scuffs, I must admit however that I rarely take my laptop out of the house... :)

There is no play in the case or flex, it locks in solid. I don't think you will see scratches or scuffs unless you are always taking it off and putting it on.
