on OS X is there any way to see some details on a file by hovering your cursor over it? Ex: If I hover my mouse on a JPG on my desktop I can see the dimensions (like 1920x1200) and the filesize (like 2.3MB). Is there any way to enable this on my Macbook Pro?

It's been bugging me for a while :/

i mainly only use column view.. which shows this in the last column when you click something...

thats the only easy way i know of... you can always hit Get Info and see a lot but thats not super quick

oh.. if your going to look through a lot, you can always open Inspector and as you click new files in any view. it will show tons of stuff over in the inspector window. its kind of like Get Info, but its a single window that changes with what's selected. To get it there, when you right click something to hit Get Info, hold down Alt and the "Get Info" option will change to "Show Inspector"

Yeah, go for Column View, which will give you a bit more information in the Finder. And also as a tip, you can "Get Info" by pressing Command + I on the file as well (just a nice thing if you hate repetitive right-clicking :p).
