That explains it. Have a PDF where something as simple as a lowercase alpha, beta -- or a division sign -- is rendering as a blacked-out box.
In Font Book, all fonts on this machine are listed under PDF, as well. Running OS X 10.6.3.
The PDF works fine on a friend's Vista machine.
Any thoughts?
-
is it just preview? any other PDF viewers (acrobat?) show it differently?
-
The font problem is in Preview only. Some fonts also render differently (more true to their original form as seen on Windows machines) in Acrobat.
Since I can't post the PDF in question, what would cause font inconsistencies in a PDF like this? It's a silly problem to have. -
i really have no idea.. but I've seen Preview do stupid things before... its nice but not perfect.
Some symbols in PDFs (Greek letters, mathematics symbols) showing as black boxes in Preview.app
