Hi, actually im going to buy an SSD so im going to buy probably an Samsung 2.5 256gb MLC SSD (here in Mexico are more expensive), 120-160gb probably i can't survive a lot with that so thats why im searching 256gb.

I will find a big improvement as everyone says over my 500gb 5200rpm drive (is the standard drive that came with my MBP)? In 1 month i move to Germany and i want that my MPB can survive at least 1-2 years until i go to the University and buy a new model (this year will be Studienkolleg, like a pre-university year required), thats the reason of the SSD (more later i will upgrade my ram to 8gb, but i can't because im doing some savings for summer).

I found that this SSD is from 2008-2009, probably without garbage collection, i could use TRIM on this SSD? Without it that could affect my write/read speed over the time?

And only for curiosity which are the read and write speeds of my 5200rpm in comparison to the SSD?

I was considering an Optibay but like i will move to Germany, lets say my logic board fails and i must replace again the bay, i can't because i don't have some of the screwdrivers to remove the battery (a friend will install me this drive because he has the screwdrivers, i could do it but i don't have them) or does with an Optibay i can use my warranty without problems (only if the problem affects the Logic board in this case)?

Yes it will be a big difference in terms of speed and snappiness. I suggest researching on different SSD brands in order to find what would suit you best. We have an excellent SSD sub-topic area in the hardware section. You will find a lot of info about SSDs there regarding price, performance, reliability, firmware, etc.
