So... are we expecting anything new with iMacs any time soon?

The massive price drop, increased RAM capacity, and increase in processor speed has made me weary of buying a new iMac due to the seemingly similar specs and prices.

It doesnt seem like anyone saw this macbook overhaul coming... but what about iMacs? Hasnt it been a while since they have seen anything new?

Edit: errr... nevermind, apparently there was a 2009 update I missed?

Yeah, I doubt we'll see any iMac updates before the fall at the earliest. But who really knows, nobody predicted new MBPs for Monday.

Im wondering this too. 4850 mobility is trash for a desktop system.

Well... don't forget the 24" does have a lot of pixels to push...

Very doubtful there'll be any changes to the desktops for a while.

it does not matter whether you have 2.4 or 24" display-it is resolution that matters! If you check benchmarks on macrumors,4850 is enough to play crysis on high 1920x1200!

Please read posts slower. I said the 24" iMac had a lot of pixels. Amount of pixels = resolution.

Just wait for Crysis 2. =P

Well, sorry for misunderstanding... But in my defense, when you said 24",I thought you meant the size...cos you can have 1920x1200 on 15" now...ok,anyway,crysis was one of worst optimized games in history,so I hope that second one will be better!

GTA IV counts as all the badly optimized games in history. Scaling detail along with resolution? Seriously?

Also, the desktop lines aren't refreshed as often as the laptops... they aren't as important now. And they're not stuck in an interim-refresh - they're out there like they're supposed to be.

well, they are quite up to date now...all they need is quad core, which will come with intels new architecture and LED screens!

    P.S. don't even say GTA 4...it was pathetic-I had same 10-15 FPS on 640x480 and 1920x1200 :D
