Is it possible to run Sims 2 on a MacBook 2.0 with a gig of ram? Also if possible whats it better to run it through, native Apple Version, Bootcamp XP version, or Parralel XP version? And when I say better im refearing to the Frames Per Second with the same settings on all three configurings.

How well will it run though? Can I have decent settings turned on and still get a good FPS?

EDIT: Wouldnt it run best nativly?

When running through Windows it is running natively. The reason for the performance increase in Windows is, correct me if I'm wrong, because the GMA950 can leach upto 256MB of system RAM, whereas in OSX its restricted to 64MB.

I think it can get 128 on windows xp and 64 on osx, but it should be better on windows xp, i'll check into it.

Here is a website with some product information. http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/gma950/

It says "Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT) 3.0 supports up to 224MB of video memory; system memory is allocated where it is needed dynamically."

So it should run much better with the windows xp through boot camp. Gl

Thanks for the replies, and that website helped a lot too! Looks like I should have no problem getting a good fram rate in Sims 2 Boot Camp.

yeah no problem man. I didn't know it is 224, looks like I will run my games CoD2 and Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne on it. It should be good because the human eye can only see 30 FPS so it should be around their, someone told me they ran 23 FPS on CoD2 so thats ok and I think that was on OS X

Ohh then I really shouldnt be worried about sims2, and the FPS hehe. I should be able to run it with a decent screen resolution and keep a good FPS.

yeah it should be fine. When you play, it would be nice if you could make a thread and explain how it went because I am curious.
