Recently, when I try to shut down my mbp it appears to shut down ok but when you close the lid the front sleep light comes on. If I open the lid again it appears off, and you cannot start it up again without holding down the power button for the 6 secs. At first I just ignored this but I was realising that the next day the battery would be dead. So when I turned it off last night I noticed that when it should be shut down, as well as the sleep light glowing there was also a small (and I mean only loud enough to hear when your ear is quite near the machine) fan noise.

Anyway, each time I start up again I get the following error log...I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about what this means or what the problem might be.

To clarify, this error happens when I try to shut down the laptop whether or not it is connected to the power supply, and when Time Machine is not connected.

    BELOW IS THE ERROR LOG:

My 2 cents: If there's an apple store nearby and you're still in the warranty period... go to the store and sort it out! ... Probably stating it on apple's official discussion forum ( http://discussions.apple.com) would probably get you some feedback as well...

Thanks, I have posted in the apple discussion forum but thought I'd put it here too as I think you get better responses here :)

Are you sure it's completely off when you shut the lid? If you close the lid before its actually off it will just go to sleep. I second the going to the store idea.
