    Hey,
I will most probably buy a macbook pro 15.4" in the next 2ish months. Do you think it is worth waiting to see if they release Snow leopord and maybe a slightly updated mac in that time? I have no idea what Steve and his screw do...

    Thanks

    if you can wait, yes.

if you can't wait, then no.

dunno what other kind of answer you might be looking for.

I don't really see what type of updates they could do. Maybe bump up the processors a little, or replace them with power efficient processors ( with a big advertisement for it ). Or bump up the the ram. Either way I think if they do update it the difference would be nominal. The only advantage would be if they charge to upgrade to snow leopard you could save a couple bucks.

Damn I love these forums...Everyone replies so quickly! Thanks guys...might just be able to stick it out until until they get an update. I need a laptop for work but not badly enough to justify having to buy Snow when it comes out. And a slightly more efficient cpu wouldn't be bad...the intel P-series are pretty good (reduce heat output as well).

I wouldn't expect any new big core upgrades in the next two months. Maybe a processor bump in speed. And they are most likely not going to change the design of the MBP. You also got to take into consideration the little bugs and glitches that might come out with Snow Leopard :D

    Absolutely wait!!
It's a good idea to never buy Apple gear in May because June always seems to have nice suprises. At the least wait for the OS refresh, save some money there. As usual most of the fanfare at the conference will be about OS X and iPhone, but sometimes they slip in small hardware upgrades.

Don't expect i7 CPUs or anything though, they might come in by October at the very very earliest.

If you need it now, then go for it. However, it'd probably better if you wait for it. Since it is a newer version of Leopard.
