Don't know if they would cover this or if its considered my fault? I didnt do this on purpose...it just sort of happened.

It's a common issue with their AC adapter and it gets lots of complaints. Depending on how long you've had it, it may or may not be handled appropriately by Apple. Wouldn't hurt to call just so they don't forget this is a recurring sore spot with users.

How long have you had the system for? Do you have apple care? Either way, I'd call and see what they say.

BTW, do you typically pull on the cord whenever unplugging?

Whether you have Apple care or not, you should give them a phone call, however, as everyone else has already mentioned - it really depends on how long you've had the computer for and whether you have Apple Care.

Than definately give them a call. Apple isn't completely unreasonable, and if you're still under the original warrenty, they should be pretty understanding about it. But don't take my word for it! x)

You may not even need to go through <noparse>Apple</noparse> Care. Just give the local <noparse>Apple</noparse> Store a ring first; they may replace your adapter immediately.

Yeah, try it anyway. I think they may be able to consider it your fault, but try anyhow. Note that you're disappointed, as you expected more durability and reliability in Apple products, yadah yadah.

This is a known issue and Apple with generally replace it without questions. I got a replacement a couple of months ago, and I have a friend that's on his 4th(over a period of two years or so, and no rough treatment).

Take it to a store if you can, or atleast call, theyre very reasonable. Even if at first they say they cant do anything and say its your fault, you can usually talk them down.

Just give them a call. If you bought through a store, see if they can replace it for free.

Also note that this issue is also prevalent among some MagSafe adapters. Pulling the plug out by the cord has been reportedly stripping the insulation near the notebook port.

Just called, they are sending a new one. Didnt take any pressure or anything, the person just said they will setup a new one to be delivered in 5 business days. Took less than 5 minutes. If thats any indication of how AppleCare is, I might pick that up for my MBP.
