I want to set up and FTP on my macbook, but I don't want someone to be able to put files anywhere they want. How do I limit this?

My name I use for my login in Drone and my password is ****. Do I have to tell them my login name and password or is there a way to set a different password for them to use? I don't want them to know my password so they can later log into my computer.

The built in FTP server for the Apple is pretty bad IMHO. Unless you have to get into the unix side of things (ie go in and manually modify the cfg files) it is only setup to allow people to login that have a user account on the machine.
So it is recommended to have a seperate account for anyone wanting to FTP to the machine. Of course, unless they put the files into the shared dir, then you will have to also FTP into the account to get the files (or login and drag them to teh shared folder).
Not a great FTP system... Unless my knowledge is... incomplete.
