    Hello,

    I'm selling my MBP March2008. Its the 2.5ghz, 8600m 256 Nvidia, 2gb ram.
I've used it for a good 6 months and have 6 months warranty left.

What's a good price to list it for?
And where is it a good place to sell it? (Going to put up on craigslist. Ebay- i dont know about that..)

You can check the going prices for a machine with those specs right on Ebay.

Craigslist is a good place to list it, I've found locals usually tend to pay more. With that said, you might want to add $50-75 on top of the price you decide and see where that takes you. You're going to get a lot of responses from fraudulent buyers. One very important thing to remember is to not accept PayPal payments when dealing locally. The buyer can turn around and dispute the charge and you will have no proof of delivery. PayPal requires a tracking number and signature for all items valued at $250 and above.

eBay is another good place to sell your laptop. Here are a few steps to ensure a pleasant transaction for both yourself and buyer:

Only ship to a confirmed PayPal address (currently only available in US, UK & Canada) (do not confuse this with a verified PayPal account)
Get a tracking number, insurance, and require a signature
Pack the laptop very well including doubling boxing it.
Describe the laptop & included accessories as well as you can. Be precise about any defects/damage. Do not leave anything out.
Take clear pictures of the laptop and serial # before shipping. This will come handy in case the buyers decides to file a "not as described" claim.

Finally, make sure to also list your laptop in the forums marketplace.

Yeah, make sure you send it out with a tracking number and a signature no matter what when dealing with PayPal. This is very valuable information that I wished I would have previously known.

Thank you for your help. I just assumed that the apple forums would know more about pricing than the price check forums, sorry for assuming.

Thank you for the input on ebay and craigslist, a lot of valuable information to save my butt from fraudulent activity.

IMHO, the MarketPlace section of this wonderful forum is also a good place to list the notebook for sale. Good luck. :)
