    Hi all,

I am new to Apple products.
My father just wished to buy a big monitor laptop and he also told that he would tell his relatives to get it from US
during the time of christmas, when there would be offers and the cost would be less.

I was browsing through the net.
I found iMac desktop which is quite good enough for him, as he needs a big monitor.

Buy Apple iMac ME086HN/A All-in-One (Quad Core i5/ 8GB/ 1TB/ OS X Mavericks) Online at Best Prices In India | Flipkart.com

    Following are my queries:

    a) Will there be offers during Christmas on Apple products? If it will be, how much discount is generally applicable on iMac?
    b) Is there any other laptop/desktop brand which is advisable to buy as per my requirement?

    Thanks,
    gsp.

1: doubtful usually they add in a free iPod or something.
2: what are your specific needs?

for gaming that is a very sub par unit, but yet is good for a casual user who is doing internet and email tasks and such if they do not need/want portability.

define a big monitor ... I call the 21" iMac actually a small screen unit, depending on needs it may be more practical to attach a micro itx computer to the back of a larger 27-32" monitor as my daughter has done in her dorm room. if you make a thread over in WNSIB ( what notebook should I buy ) we can try to help. or over in Off topic for our desktop thread.

    Thanks KCE.

I dont have specific needs, just that display can be big ranging from 16 inch to 20 inch
and want to focus on discounted laptops during christmas sales in US.

I have posted in WNSIB also.

Definitely not a free iPod. Usually just a gift card for the retail store or 200 or so off the Mac itself.

may depend on the country, here in Canada there was no cash discount but you could get a free low end iPod mini or classic.
