When I pinch to zoom in Safari, more often than not the whole tab freezes and I have to close the tab. Nothing else is affected. Also, after I pinch to zoom once and it freezes, I cannot do it anymore until I restart the computer. Other times it works fine. Weird.

Thanks for keeping the thread alive! The problem is, I sometimes, just naturally pinch hot zoom in Safari. 5 out of 6 times it works fine but sometimes it just causes the tab to completely freeze up. No scrolling, nothing. It freezes up in the middle of the zooming for no reason and there's nothing I can do to un-freeze it. I can still copy/paste the URL and all the buttons at the top work, but the content itself is frozen forever. Other tabs and applications are not affected. After one situation like this, I cannot pinch to zoom anymore until I restart. I've noticed that Safari itself is glitchy in Lion. OH MY GOD, right now as I'm typing this message none of the buttons work! And I can't submit it, so I just had to retype the whole thing in a separate window. The only reason I am actually using this horrible browser is because I liked the smooth scrolling which I don't get in Chrome. I also keep getting ActionScript errors. That window which I was typing in, keeps freezing for about 20 second, then un-freezing. I still can't click anything! I can't even put in an angry face!!! Seriously, I have literally never seen an application this glitchy ever before. Oh, good, now that I'm in a different window I can put in angry faces.                                   Lots of them. I'd better submit quickly before this tab freezes. God am I never using Safari again.

Chrome never had an issue in the first place. The only reason I don't want to use Chrome is because it doesn't offer me the smooth zooming and the scrolling isn't as smooth. But now, I just tried vigorously pinching in and out on Safari and it immediately froze. After about 10 seconds, it un-froze, and now it's working fine. I don't know, considering that I can't zoom in Safari, there's no point in using Safari. I think I should just switch to Chrome.

I know I'm necro'ing an old thread, but my system has the same issue. Every once in a while when zooming in Safari, the tab freezes and I have to close the tab. MBP 13.3"

It's rare, but it does happen a few times a day.
