I just downloaded Safari to try it out, and the text looks uncomfortably fuzzy and/or blurry to me.

Doing side-by-side comparisons I noticed that text on both Firefox and IE are much sharper and crisper... and therefore much easier on my eyes.

    Anyone else notice this?

Anyone know of a fix for it?

    Thanks...

it is the way Safari uses Anti-Aliasing to "sharpen" text, I agree with you, I find it really easy to get used to the way Safari does text, but I just have to ask myself, why???

Weird - it's fuzzy/blurry and fast for everyone else, but was (I've already deleted it) clear, crisp and very slow on my Windows machine.

Font smoothing in Windows and OSX follow different philosophies. The end result is that text in OSX ends up looking smoother and arguably more aesthetically pleasing.

yeah the way Apple does text is one of the most important reasons why most graphic designers use apple computers, as what they see on screen in terms of Text is just more accurate to what will eventually be in print.

honestly, don't kid yourself either way. whichever one you are used to is the one you will prefer, and you can easily get used to both.

SoundsGood, you're talking about Safari for Windows, right? I agree, text does not look as good on Safari for Windows. But it looks great on Safari for Mac. But as circa86 said, Macs are actually displaying it right, and Windows is "tricking" it.

On a side note, I think IE7 makes text look bad too. Firefox renders the text best on Windows, in my opinion.

    You betcha.

I hope you're right. As soon as Amazon.com gets more MBPs in stock I plan on pullin' the trigger. :)
