Goodness ... When I'm watching flash video in Safari my battery life drops to 2-3 hours ... When I'm watching the same content in Firefox I'm good for another 5-6.

What is going on here and would Chrome resolve these issues? Yes I know I could try out Chrome for myself but I alone am not a good enough sample size for the question I'm asking.

At any rate, why does Firefox handle flash much better than Safari on OS X?

run Safari in 32 bit mode and it'll be much better.

The problem with the drain is 64 bit Safari trying to run a very poorly made 32 bit flash plug in.

Are you using the regular flash plug in or one of the new Beta versions?

I was using the regular one ... It doesn't matter now though, I have switched to Chrome. Pretty snappy browser.

If it makes you feel any better, the new Hulu app got my MBP heated up pretty quickly today. It was quite odd because you think it would be more efficient than the website but it was quite the opposite. I was even using the newest flash beta.

firefox and flash gala aren't running good for me.... Chrome runs it extremely fast, Safari no difference, and Firefox way slow and jumpy... its definitely still a beta product.

you can always launch 32 bit Safari if you want to run Safari and not have as big of a hit on the battery.
