I know this isn't really a notebook question per se but it is a Mac OS question (I guess :) ). Anyway, does anyone know if there is a plugin for Safari that is similar to the Faviconize plugin for Firefox. Thanks guys.

well sorry i dont know exactaly what that is but you can always just run firefox on your mac if that will work. and dont worry about it not being about laptops, you've got mac questions, and thats what we're here for.

Good point stealth...I use firefox sometimes as well but there are some things that bug me (such as not being about to select a drop down list by clicking tab and forcing me to use the mouse).

Faviconize Tabs basically gets rid of all the text in a tab and minimizes it so that you only see the icon of the site. It's very useful for when you have a lot of tabs open at once and keeping them all in the window.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure this doesn't exist. Unless you need Firefox plugins, I would recommend trying out Camino - which is basically Firefox for Mac. Developed by some of the guys that worked on Netscape Explorer until AOL gobbled it up.

I tried Camino but too many sites are not compatible with the browser (including my bank website!). Thanks for the suggestion though.

Try Shiira and Omniweb too. They both offer tab systems vastly different from the standard tab bar used in Mozilla apps, Safari and MSIE.

OmniWeb even offers a multiple workspace feature, which is much better than the "snapshot" feature in Safari, and Shiira has Tabs Exposé too.

Thanks guys...another question about safari...is there a way to get the history drop down list like in firefox? I firefox, the right side of the address bar has an arrow that lets you see the past websites you go to. This is better than normal history b/c it only shows sites that you actually typed in rather than ones you click on as well. Anything like this in safari?
